Dave did whatever he could, post-undergrad to fuel his passion for type and develop his skills. It all paid off when Dave moved to the Bay Area in 2014, joining Delve Fonts as a part-time type designer and one year later applying to then being accepted for the inaugural Type@Cooper West post-grad program for typeface design at Letterform Archive. 2017 has culminated in achieving the dream he set almost a decade ago, drawing letters full-time from a studio which fits in his backpack.
Growing up with a multi-talented craftsman for a father unequivocally set Dave's career destination for the world of type design. “Details matter,” “Everything in its place,” those were the values he was raised on and maintain in his own work, today.
In 2004, sophomore year at Drexel University, John Langdon’s Typography II class changed Dave's life. It was the culmination of all his experience before that moment and it has been the driving force behind everything he'd done since. John’s craft and thoughtfulness in all his letterforms was infectious, it made Dave fall in love with the world of type.
